Virginia Beach Friends Meeting is building a Young Friends (Sunday School) program for 2023-2024. *
While their parents are upstairs in contemplative silence for the hour of Meeting, children age 3 and up may attend a 55-minute class downstairs that includes a moment of silence, yoga for focus, discussion of a Bible verse or theme and relevant creative work. Often we prepare a snack that adults and children can enjoy after Meeting. **
For the last five minutes of class, children will return to their parents upstairs to experience the silence of the Meeting.
Children and their parents who arrive early are welcome to play in our beautiful playground.
* Until enough children regularly attend, we will hold classes only when children are expected. Parents are asked to let us know when their family will visit by sending an email to vbfm.emailer@gmail.com at least three days in advance.
